A native Washingtonian, Nina Crump began her music ministry as a small child singing with the Rose Buds Children’s Choir at Jordan Baptist Church in Capital Heights, Maryland. For the past 30 years, Nina has been a member of Free Gospel Deliverance Temple in Capitol Heights, Maryland where she has been an active participant in the Praise Team Ministry.

In 2006, after much anticipation, Nina released her first CD project entitled, “Nina … Still Giving Him Praise” (producer-Darin Pinkney). This project introduced us to Nina’s amazing voice and love of praising God. Her talent has become widely recognized, and she is rarely without an engagement allowing her to share her music and ministry throughout the East Coast. You see, Nina has a special gift for sharing the Gospel – through various genres, including reggae, hip-hop, jazz and contemporary Christian music – perfect for reaching into the hearts and souls of all ages. As a testament to Nina’s powerful music ministry, she wrote and arranged the majority of the songs on both of her CD’s.

In 2010, Nina returned with, “Break Free Nina” (producers-Ronnie Lindsey and Isaiah Thomas). This CD project gave us an even greater chance to appreciate the ministry of music she’s been Blessed to share with the world. Through this project, Nina blesses us with more of her original music – worshipfully performed in her own unique style. Whether quietly praising God in “When I Pray,” a soft and fluid duet with her equally talented uncle, Reggie Johnson; joyously thanking God in the up-tempo “What Would I Do Without You, Lord?” or reverently honoring God in “Break Free,” a collaboration with husband Carl Crump, Jr.’s spoken word, Nina once again brings home God’s word in a way that everyone can appreciate, making her latest CD project as uplifting and inspirational as the first project. Just hear what listeners have said about Nina’s music:

“… You will be blessed as you witness and experience the sincerity and the love for the Lord that emanates from [Nina’s] music and her life …”

“There are a lot of great singers in the industry without an anointing. In this day in time we all need a voice that will touch our hearts. When I listen to [Nina], it always touches my heart …”

“Nina … is nothing less than fierce! This sister is filled to the brim with the Holy Spirit and has the voice to share her joy with the world …”

And what greater endorsement than that of Stellar Award-winning Gospel singer and songwriter, Isaiah Thomas, who said of
“Break Free With Praise”:
“[Nina] has a soulful, powerful, anointed voice!!! Her spirit is all over this CD!”

and Stellar Award nominated “7 Sons of Soul” recording artist and producer Ronnie Lindsey, who says of Nina’s latest effort:
“[Nina has] … power impact! Put your dancing shoes on!”

In addition to writing, arranging and performing the songs on her musical projects, Nina has been busy spreading God’s love through her music ministry. She has done the following:

  • written and arranged songs for books and plays
  • ministered in song at Youth and Women’s Conferences throughout the East Coast
  • interviewed on numerous Gospel Internet and Radio programs
  • performed on the Radio One 2011 and 2012 “One Love” Gospel Cruises
  • first ever gospel performance on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s “Jewel of the Seas” Cruise Ship
  • performed on the 2011 Reach Project “Reaching the Nations” recording held in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Nina was a 2011 recipient of the Excellence in Christian Music Award

Finally, Nina also uses her music ministry to “Give Back” to the community. She frequently performs at Senior Nursing and Rehabilitation Facilities throughout the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area and sponsors an annual Christmas Holiday Brunch, where she collects toys to contribute to the Marine Corps “Toys4Tots” Program.
